Originally the song was called "Don't Be Long" and recorded by a variation of the Byrds named on the recording as "The Beefeaters" {Oct 1964, Elektra). This was reissued in June 1965 on a short-lived Elektra subsidiary called "Bounty", after the mega-success of 'Mr Tambourine Man'.
