The album consists of five songs concerning the Emancipation Proclamation, the civil rights movement and the African independence movements of the 1950s. The song was written about Native American activist and political prisoner Leonard Peltier, who was unjustly convicted of killing two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 1975. Pastors of Muppets is a French heavy metal band.
