Orchestre National de Jazz was created in 1986 by the French Ministry of Culture. "'Around Robert Wyatt' is a unique collaboration between Robert Wyatt and Daniel Yvinec... The compositions are either by Wyatt, or chosen by him - including the famous “Shipbuilding”, written for him by Elvis Costello and Clive Langer... The voices were recorded first, a cappella, and then were dressed in inventive orchestral arrangements ... allowing us to rediscover these enchanting songs, revealed in a new light."
The song was used in the movie Blow Up. They were originally going to use Train Kept A Rollin, but because of copyright issues, they couldn't. So they changed up the lyrics the night before they recorded this song. Blow-Up was a 1966 mystery directed by Michelangelo Antonioni and produced by Carlo Ponti. The story is set within the mod subculture of 1960s Swinging London,The Yardbirds featuring both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck on guitar and Keith Relf on vocals, are seen performing the song "Stroll On". A buzz in Beck's amplifier angers him so much, he smashes his guitar on stage, then throws its neck into the crowd. A riot ensues.
