* - In Irish rebel song referring to the "Black and Tans", the name for the special reserve constables (mainly former World War I army soldiers), recruited in Great Britain, then sent to Ireland from 1920, to reinforce the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) during the I"rish War of Independence".
The Wolfe Tones are on a tour to play their last shows and retire after 60 years playing. They said at his funeral: "He may seem the fool who has given his all, by the wise men of the world; but it was the apparent fools who changed the course of Irish history" He was an IRA Provo and while in jail died in the hunger strike of 1981.

Irish Folk Band from Dublin, founded as a trio in 1963 by brothers Brian & Derek Warfield, and their friend Noel Nagle. they take their name from Theobald Wolfe Tone, one of the leaders of the Irish Rebellion of 1798, with the double meaning of a "wolf tone" – a spurious sound that can affect instruments of the violin family.
