First show in 2024: Young Canyon - contemporary artists In the first episode of Mama Cass' House in 2024 I am playing only 21st century artists and no records as an exception. Here are some contemporary artists and releases of the past twenty years that were inspired by the 60s and 70s Laurel Canyon music scene and (at least some of them) captured the spirit. No worries, I am back in the studio next week to play some good old vinyl for you!

Multi-instrumentalist and music producer Jonathon Wilson is said to have revitalized the Laurel Canyon music scene by hosting jam sessions at his place in the respective LA neighborhood. Wilson also produced Dawes.
Fictional rock band, greatly inspired by the soap opera-like drama around Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, created by author Taylor Jenkins Reid. I recommend both the 2019 novel and the 2023 miniseries. Daisy Jones is portrayed and song by Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough
