Co-founder of IABD, David LaFlamme (born 'Gary Posie'), died August 6th, at age 82. Part of the San Fransisco music scene since 1962, he played with Jery Garcia, Janis Joplin and was in an early version of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, before forming IABD in the summer of 1967. LaFlamme on the original of this song: "... We were like caged birds in that attic (...of a Victorian house in Seattle, WA. We had no money, no transportation, the weather was miserable. We were just barely getting by on a very small food allowance provided to us.". He also appeared on the TV shows "Frasier", "Ellen" and "Wings", as a strolling violinist who stands right next to a table in a restaurant, playing loudly or annoyingly.
