Bass player Randy Meisner died July 26th, at age 77. He is best known as an original member of The Eagles, and writing/ singing 'Take It To The Limit', from late 1975 (his "spotlight" song. BUT, before that he was in Nebraska group The Dynamics, Colorado group 'The Poor' above), Poco (founding member/ left after their 1st LP: 1968 - 1969), Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band), and Linda Ronstadt's backing band in 1971, all before the Eagles starting in Sept 1971 /// * - after the recording was done, but before it was mixed, because he was excluded (at Richie Furay's insistence) from being part of the mix-down process (only Jim Messina and Furay were allowed to do so). HOWEVER, his bass and backing vocals were left in. Also, his image on the painting on the front cover was replaced with a dog (Ouch - LsA).

Bobby Osborne died June 27, 2023. He was the co-founder (with his brother Sonny Osborne - banjo, baritone singer) of the Osborne Brothers {1953 - 2005} and a member of the Grand Ole Opry (joined in 1964) and inducted into the 'International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame'. During the 1960s, they caused minor controversy among Ye OLde Bluegrass Purists by using drums electrc instruments. Their biggest hits were 'Tennessee Hound Dog' and 'Rocky Top', both from 1968

Jesse McReynolds died June 23rd, 2023 at age 92. He played mandolin many years with his brother Jim McReynolds {guitar/ high tenor}, first as "The McReynolds Brothers" {1947 - 1952}, then as "Jim & Jesse" (1952 - 2002} with their backing band, "The Virginia Boys". who included Vassar Clements and actor Randall Franks.
Featuring Tommy Stinson, bass player for The Replacements, then after their breakup in 1991, Stinson formed "Bash & Pop", and in 1998 he joined Guns N' Roses. / Click the Link above, left to read an article about this release
