Charlie Haden [Billed as 'Charlie Haden Family & Friends']
Although Haden is best known as a jazz bassist, he began his musical career at age 2 as part of the "Haden Family Band", playing the role of a yodeling cowboy. This album came about when, at a gathering to celebrate his mother's 80th birthday, Haden's wife suggested that the family sing "You Are My Sunshine".
Before the album was recorded, the original drummer Mike Heidorn left and three new band members were added: bassist John Stirratt, drummer Ken Coomer, and multi-instrumentalist Max Johnston.

Bill Monroe [Billed as 'Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Boys']
Hartford wrote the song after watching the film ' Doctor Zhivago' in 1966. // * - Although it was first released as a single by Campbell in June 1967, and was a minor Pop hit. It was reissued in August 1968 after Campbell's success of 'By the Time I Get to Phoenix', and became a Top-40 hit. By May 1968, an estimated 50 artists had recorded covers of this song.
This is mainly music by previously unknown and unrecorded local Ozarks folk and country musicians who were recruited to work on this film. Some of the music features prominently in the film (opening, end credit roll), but much of it is heard as background, such as playing on radios etc. Some of it was made for the film but not used.
Billed as 'Doug Dillard And Gene Clark' / Also a staple of the Eagles live shows, it was sung by Bernie Leadon and it appeared on the first Eagles album. / Click the Link above, left, to view the original single.
This song is generally attributed to the 1920s Appalachian musician and Baptist preacher Lloyd Chandler, but it was likely taken or adapted from folk songs already existing in the region.

Comment:
The Ducks (formerly known as the Jeff Blackburn Band) were a short-lived American hard rock supergroup formed in the summer of 1977 by singer-songwriter Jeff Blackburn. The band included Bob Mosley (an original member of Moby Grape),Neil Young, and Johnny Craviotto. The band played a series of impromptu bar gigs around the Santa Cruz area in 1977. The set lists were very democratic, with each member of the band taking the lead in turn. / This will be their first official release - click on the Link above, left to read about this release.
