Not a German band, but... This '80s band is fronted by singer Terri Nunn (the name I chose for myself when telling people how to pronounce "Dariel" got too difficult--"Teri," that is, not "nun"). The band includes keyboard player David Diamond, bassist John Crawford, guitarist Rick Olsen, and drummer Rob Brill.
The theme song for the German-language TV show Dark, available on Netflix (you can listen to the dubbed version in American English, or listen to the original German with or without subtitles). I'm starting the track at about the 50 second mark, since the intro bit is so quiet.
Fever Ray is a solo project by Swedish musician Karin Dreijer, from the band the Knife. She uses some great costumes and performance pieces in her work.
