Martin Barre of Jethro Tull Interview Show "Spitting out pieces of his broken lung"...an indelible image written by Ian Anderson in Jethro Tull's song "Aqualung" (from the 1971 album of the same name), whose guitar solo by Martin Barre is widely considered to be one of the greatest in rock. Jethro Tull finished its run in 2011, and two entities arose in its place: Songwriter/flautist Ian Anderson's band, and guitarist Martin Barre's group. Tull had a remarkable run of LPs, with "Stand Up" (their second, where Barre joined the band), "Benefit," and "Thick as A Brick" all huddling around "Aqualung" from '69-'72 to challenge its dominance. And throughout the '70s, every year brought another delectable platter. Following the dissolution of Jethro Tull, Martin began a solo career in earnest, and has released his latest album,"The Roads Less Travelled," following three others since 2013.
